STARLINK STANDARD KIT GEN 3
The Starlink Standard Kit Gen 3 is the latest evolution in satellite internet technology, delivering unparalleled connectivity to homes and businesses in Kenya, especially in areas where traditional broadband struggles. This kit, designed for easy self-installation, features a more robust dish and a powerful Wi-Fi 6 router, ensuring you stay connected with lightning-fast speeds and remarkably low latency.
Key Features:
- Sleeker, More Compact Design (Gen 3 Dish): The dish (often called “Dishy”) is redesigned to be more compact and efficient, measuring approximately 594 x 383 x 39.7 mm. It no longer has an integrated mounting pole, making it more versatile for various mounting options (accessories sold separately). It weighs around 2.9 kg (3.2 kg with kickstand).
- Enhanced Performance: The Gen 3 Standard Kit delivers typical download speeds of 25-220 Mbps and upload speeds of 5-20 Mbps, with a low latency of 25-60 ms. This performance is ideal for streaming 4K video, online gaming, video conferencing, and seamless Browse, even in remote locations.
- Next-Gen Wi-Fi 6 Router: The included Gen 3 Router is a significant upgrade. It features Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) technology with Tri-band 4×4 MU-MIMO, providing faster speeds, increased capacity for multiple devices (up to 235 connected devices), and superior coverage of up to 297 m² (3,200 ft²).
- Integrated Ethernet Ports: Unlike previous standard kits, the Gen 3 Router now includes two (2) RJ45 Ethernet LAN ports with removable covers, allowing for direct wired connections to devices, network switches, or your own mesh system (compatible with Gen 2 and Gen 3 Starlink Mesh nodes).
- Exceptional Durability & Weather Resistance: The Starlink Gen 3 dish boasts an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, making it highly resilient to harsh weather conditions, including heavy rain, snow (with a snow-melting capability of up to 40mm/hour), and winds up to 96 kph. The router is rated IP56.
- Simplified Self-Installation: The kit is designed for effortless setup. With its detachable kickstand, you can get online in minutes by simply plugging it in and pointing it at the sky, guided by the intuitive Starlink app.
- Broad Field of View: The dish features a 110-degree field of view for satellite tracking, optimizing signal strength and connection reliability.
- Separate Power Supply: The power supply is now a separate component, offering greater flexibility in installation and cable management. Average power consumption for the dish is 75-100W.
